East Coast Pipeline Racing in 2007-08
It was an incredibly successful 2007-08 season for a new team enjoying their first year out on the road. The East Coast Pipeline team raced at 46 meetings and had an amazing 21 top 3 finishes. The highlight of the year for the team was winning the final night of the East Coast Pipeline Outlaws Down Under V event at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway. “To win the event whilst competing against arguably the best sprintcar drivers in the world is definitely an achievement for us” said Farr. The ECP Racing Team would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of East Coast Pipeline Racing in 2007-08.
We have
also added a two seater sprint car to the mix of excitement and plan to use this
as a promotional tool at various circuits around Australia. Patrons & sponsors will have the
opportunity to sit in the car behind our driver ‘Robbie Farr’ for a sample of
some of the speed and adrenalin that is experienced by the race drivers
themselves!
During the off season the ECP Racing team was very busy preparing for the upcoming Australian season. To assist with preparation, the ECP Racing team headed over to the West Coast of America to compete against the world’s best. “I’m wrapped,” Robbie replied at the prospect of again racing a Sprintcar in America. “It's been a while since I last raced there, so I am really looking forward to getting back there.” Robbie said the highlights of the visit will be linking up with the World of Outlaws where he will contest a race at Skagit Speedway, Alger, Washington, before he heads to Chico, California to compete in the annual three-night Chico Gold Cup.
Once back on Australian soil, it was time to put into place what they had learnt at Brisbane International Speedway, they showed they had learnt plenty by winning the feature race. Robbie and the ECP Racing team put in a dominate performance on the opening night of their Australian campaign. Then a week later, the ECP Racing team contested The Australian Sprintcar Title run at Sydney’s Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway. After plenty of drama right from the opening lap with seven red lights, Farr ended the night in spectacular form taking 2nd place.
The East Coast Pipeline company is the naming rights sponsor of Wanless World Series Sprintcars Grand Final to be held over two nights at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway on Friday, January 16 and Saturday, January 17 2009. The announcement of the ‘East Coast Pipeline WWSS Grand Final’ and a $10,000 first prize on the final night will ensure the event will be one of the most hotly contested for the year.
Robbie Farr and the ECP Racing team are looking towards achieving a fun and successful 2008-09 season as they compete across Australia. On the road once again is crew chief Nick Speed and Sean Grealy who worked so well together last season, achieving fantastic results with Farr, one of Australia’s most talented drivers. The team has three J & J chassis cars in their Australian workshop with an impressive backup spare parts stock inventory for the 2008-09 national schedule.
