Environmental
Management Policy
Today’s approach to
pipeline construction and engineering requires a diligent focus on the impact
of the construction process on the environment. Irresponsible practices and
attitudes are simply not tolerated or condoned and the management and staff of
East Coast Pipeline are deeply committed to excellence in environmental
management and protection – across all phases of pipeline construction. We take
our responsibilities seriously and endeavour to promote successful interactions
with land owners and cultural and natural heritage groups.
Central to our environmental
commitment is our membership in the Australian Pipeline Association Inc. The
application and embodiment of the guidelines and principles detailed in the
APIA Code of Environmental Practice for Onshore Pipelines provides a solid
foundation for East Coast Pipeline’s high standards of practice.
The management and
staff of East Coast Pipeline aspire to the following core environmental
management goals:

Meet or exceed all
environmental responsibilities defined by legislation and regulation;

Respect and
acknowledge all landowners, cultural and natural heritage groups and assist the
to preserve and protect land quality and sites of significance with the
potential to be disturbed by pipeline installation operations;

Meet or excel all
client environmental specifications and expectations

Develop and maintain
management systems for field personnel to control and implement the best
environmental practices, legislation, regulation and the APIA Code of
Environmental Practice.

Provide adequate
infrastructure, innovative equipment and personnel resources.
- Provide ongoing
training, information and opportunities for skills enhancement for all
personnel in relation to environmental management.
Quality Management
Policy
At East Coast
Pipeline we are committed to implementing the intent and following the
guidelines of such systems as the ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management System
Requirements.
Our Quality Goals
form the fundamental platform for field operations and our underlying management
philosophies. These goals include:

Obtain a complete
understanding of the client’s requirements and expectations prior to submitting
any tender pricing or undertaking of any site work

Operate with a completely
transparent approach that allows the client full access to the process so that
scope changes are readily addressed without compromise to efficiency or quality
of services or product.

level of product and service quality in the most commercially efficient manner.

Occupational Health
and Safety Policy
East Coast Pipeline
has always maintained an excellent Health and Safety record. We have developed
a comprehensive policy that embraces legislative and duty of care obligations.
We endeavour to constantly review and improve our systems and practices in
order to provide a workplace with the highest health and safety standards.
Our health and
safety policy strategies include:
- Provision of
dedicated site and corporate based health and safety leadership directed by
fully qualified and authorised OH&S officers
- Employment of
qualified and experienced construction, supervisory and technical staff
- Provision of ongoing
safety and technical training
- Management and staff
working co-operatively to develop, refine and improve current systems and
procedures
- Daily communication
and feedback with personal at the work site to identify, evaluate, and mitigate
any hazards and risks

Fostering of a workplace culture that has a zero
tolerance to drug and alcohol use in the work environment.
